are ultimately arguing that there should be very serious laws in place that all but keep people from obtaining and owning guns. There are many people who argue that no
one should be able to own a gun except those who are in the law enforcement industry or the military. But, in all honesty, there is no way to keep
guns out of the hands of people who intend to do wrong, people who plan to use guns for illegal activities. As such gun control, while a noble idea, is
something that will not stop violence and criminal activities associated with guns from taking place in society. The following paper argues that people have a right to own a gun,
although there are possible avenues of pursuit to help reduce the potential for crime through gun control. Gun Control and the Right to Own a Gun First and
foremost it should be understood that in the Constitution of the United States of America there is the Second Amendment which illustrates how "the right of the people to keep
and bear Arms shall not be infringed" (The Second Amendment the Rigbt to Bear Arms, 2007). This is the foundation for many of the arguments that favor people keeping and
maintaining the right own guns and it is also an amendment wherein many people claim modern times no longer dictate such a need. People argue that it is not longer
a nation that is filled with numerous wild dangers, that laws and regulations protect people far more than they did over 200 years ago and so in a civilized and
