who argue that no one except law enforcement professionals and military personnel should have the right to have guns. There are also those who argue that it is the right
of the citizen to own a gun, as outlined in the Constitution of the United States and if no common citizen can obtain a gun the criminals will still be
able to obtain them: "Gun control opponents deny that federal policies keep firearms out of the hands of high-risk persons" (Almanac of Policy Issues). As such they argue that guns
should be allowed. Both sides of the argument clearly want to protect people, and protect the rights of people yet they both believe different things are necessary for that protection.
The truth is that guns can be a serious problem in the United States and sometimes guns get into the wrong hands, no matter the precautions or regulations in society.
The following paper argues that guns should be legal and that gun control laws and regulations should be instilled in some states wherein the laws are relatively relaxed if existent
at all, especially in light of the recent incident at Virginia Tech. Gun Control In the controversy over gun control there are many who argue, as noted, that guns
should always be legal because of the Constitution of the United States. On the other side of the coin are those who want all guns illegal except for law enforcement
and military personnel. These are the two extremes and within these two sides are many more perspectives that are of note. There are those who are concerned that the laws
