Louise has more recollection of her toddler years between ages one and two; however, she is still a bit unclear about specific occurrences. One thing that stands out in her memory is going to church every Sunday with her mother and father. This weekly routine soon became a significant component in Louises life even at that young age, inasmuch as she felt a sense of belonging that strengthened both her religious sense and the strong relationship with her parents. This is not to say, however, that Louise did not challenge her parents authority during her most formative stage, being that a one- and two-year-old is just beginning to develop a sense of self-control and self-confidence. Louise remembers her parents encouraging her independence but not without substantial borders that helped keep her in line. Louises early childhood of ages two through six years old brought with it new and exciting experiences that incorporated social interaction and responsibility. Brought up in a household that was not overly gregarious, Louise learned early on to contain her childlike impulses, which ultimately taught her to behave more grown up than she actually was. Her religious experiences had something to do with this, in that she learned to be quiet and respectful in church, as well. Louise gained a well-balanced education of what it means to be a responsible child but was not stifled to the point of completely losing her childhood innocence. Louise had a lot of responsibility growing up in her poor household, an experience that taught her to be responsible as an adolescent and grown adult.
