Motivation, though, and a positive view on motivational strategies, may be the most significant attitude in creating a positive group work environment and determining solid outcomes for the participants.
One of the misnomers in assessing motivation is that definitions of motivation are always the same. In fact, motivation for different scenarios may relate very different conceptual perspectives.
For example, in the organizational structure, many companies have applied Maslows Hierarchy of Needs to determine that money is a successful motivator for employees. In contrast, monetary compensation
in an educational setting is an unrealistic model, and so motivators in educational organizations are fundamentally different. In the group work scenario, especially in terms of educational attainment, the
motivational factors relate to the expectation of meeting goals and the desire for academic attainment. Perhaps one of the most significant attitudes that impacts motivation in
the group work scenario is the desire to reach a consensus. The concept of consensus is based on the belief that a response in a certain scenario or a
behavior may not be specific to that individual; that others may participate in the same behavior or response under the same stimuli. In the group work process, the response
of one individual to the focus on a natural leader may be based on an individuals competitive perspective and their desire for a leadership role. But if more than
