of the group is to facilitate the recovery process by assisting members with the all-important first step of admitting they have a problem; this is why such groups are seen
as ideally suited and motivational for "individuals who are in the precontemplation, contemplation, or decision stage" (Brook & Spitz 2002, p. 103). When members graduate from such a group, they
will have a better understanding of the consequences of their relationship with their addictive substance, and will have a plan for how to eventually reach recovery (Brook & Spitz 2002,
p. 103). 2. What type of addict is best suited for an ?Early Recovery Group?? why? Early recovery groups are intended to "help members establish initial abstinence;
