IBM define grid computing as a system of computing that "enables the virtualization of distributed computing and data resources such as processing, network bandwidth and storage capacity to create a
single system image, granting users and applications seamless access to vast IT capabilities. Just as an Internet user views a unified instance of content via the Web, a grid user
essentially sees a single, large virtual computer" (IBM, 2005). To operate in this way the core of any grid need to have a basis of an open set of
protocols and standards, for example using OGSA; Open Grid Services Architecture (IBM, 2005). This is how communication can be facilitated across a wide range of divergent environments which are different
in terms of geography, operating systems and a range of different set ups. The use of grid computing allows resources to be pooled so that large capacity requirements can be
satisfied with the use of collaboration by sharing resources across different networks (IBM, 2005). Grid computing offers many advantages, the level of computing power that is available with the use
of a grid can compete and even provide more resources than a supercomputer (Blythe et al, 2003). Grid computing is very popular today. They were seen to emerge into
popularity initially with Peer-to-Peer (P2P) tools. P2P technology have allowed large numbers of computers to join together in a gird for the development of virtual enterprises, by coupling up
the different resources into a single usable whole (Rajkumar et al, 2004). A good example of this is the SETI@Home programme as well as file sharing programmes such as
Napster1 and Kazaar (Rajkumar et al, 2004). With the advent of grid computing and P2P environments there are seen many advantages in
