Q. What is the special element of graffiti art when compared with traditional art? A. Like any other international symbol, art strips away the barriers inherent to cultural segregation. Indeed, societys inhabitants are hard pressed to interact with one another based solely upon verbal exchange; however, when graffiti art is brought into the mix, that cultural barrier is soon removed. Q. Is there a certain population to which graffiti art appeals more than others? A. Typically, those who do not feel as though they fit in with the standard, acceptable social requirements. An outcast myself, I understand how it feels to be left out of the mix. My art was the only aspect of existence that truly gave me any release; without it, I was little more than a wandering soul in search of meaning. This deep, dark aspect of my persona comes through loud and clear through the graffiti art, which effectively speaks to others who relate to the same wavering existence. Q. Why art and not some other form of expression? A. Art is a cultural expression, one that does not recognize any such barriers of refinement. Its entire purpose is to offer a common ground upon which the worlds people can unite. Q. What is your ultimate goal through graffiti art? A. Attempting to assimilate into life without the inherent social boundaries is difficult enough, but when wayward youth are forced to blend into a society plagued with enormous cultural barriers, it becomes almost overwhelming.
