Leibniz was born in Leipzig, Germany in 1646 (Genda; England, 2007). His father, a professor of moral philosophy (Books and Writers, 2007). His father died
when he was still quite young, aged 6, and he was sent to a school that did little to encourage his intelligence (Genda; England, 2007). But, at the same time
it appears as though his mother did a great deal for Leibniz as she taught him about values and morals connected to religion, thus perhaps establishing his foundation of philosophical
