the 4th September that year. Despite the young age of the company the search engine gains recognition, with PC Magazine stating that it has the knack of returning very good
results and places the search engine in the top 100 web sites for 1998. The firm has a rapid history of development that extends it useful and attracts users.
. The initial expansion saw the search engine offered in 15 different language versions including Chinese and Japanese by the end of 2000 (Google, 2012). Over the years services such
as the image and news search, Gmail, Google maps, Google earth, Google docs and more recently Google plus have all been developed to attract users (Google, 2012). These
developments are made both through internal development with organic growth as well as aided by acquisitions. The growth and ability to attract and keep users is important as the main
revenue streams are from the advertising revenues. Google has two advertising programs AdWord and AdSense. The AdWord program selling advertising to firms with advertisers paying by results based
on their selected key words. The firms pay a fee linked to the number of clicks that Google creates for them through the search engine. Revenue obtained by the firm
varies; more popular words attract higher fees. The second advertising program is AdSense, this has a more targeted strategy. It is a program where web site owners allow Google
