depending on the country in which the reports are prepared. Therefore, the annual report may be seen as a reporting on the firms performance over the previous 12 months, with
the report verified as being materially accurate by an independent1 auditing company. Google are a US company, therefore annual results are filed through a form known as a 10-k. The
10-k is a full assessment of the financial performance the position of the company, including operating performance, capital assets and liabilities as well as potential business risks and legal liabilities.
The 10-k makes up the majority of Googles latest set of annual accounts which are for 20102. The main part of this is the financial reporting, the main section and
most important of the financial statements in item 8, these include the consolidated balance sheet, the consolidated statements of income, the consolidated statements of shareholders equities and the consolidated statements
of Cash flow. These present the different aspects of the business including operating income earnings and expenditure on the statements of income, capital assets and liabilities on the balance sheet,
the movement of money into and out of the company on the cash flow statement and the value of the company in relationship to the shareholders on the stockholders equity
statement. The financial statements are supplemented with notes to accompany them, indicating the way in which some figures have been calculated as well as providing supplementary information on many of
the figures included within statements. When looking at Googles accounts for 2010 there are a number of influences that have impacted on the companys results. It is noted that the
