no matter how smart we are. We might ask, how can God love a sinner? If He hates the sin, shouldnt He also hate the one doing the sin? To
reconcile this conundrum, we turn to Scripture. In John, we read: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). This is the extent of Gods love for us. We also read in John: "We love because he first loved us"
(1 John 4:19). God loved us first; we did not do anything to earn this love, He gives it freely to us. Gods love is perfect because God is perfect
and everything He does is perfect. These and many more verses attest to Gods love for us. We also repeatedly read in both the Old and New Testaments that God
hates sin. He punished sinners severely. Eckerty (n.d.) said: "God, through the prophets and apostles, pronounces awful doom and judgment on sin and wickedness." God judges His people and His
judgment is perfect. Eckerty (n.d.) also commented that "Gods love and His judgments perfectly compliment each other." In the very beginning, God held His creations accountable for what they
did. He punished Adam and Eve for disobeying Him. As one pastor reminds us: "The Bible says that God will hold us accountable for our sin" (Creation Ministries, n.d.). Furthermore,
"we all deserve Gods judgment for our sin" (Creation Ministries, n.d.). It may be difficult for humans to understand or to accept but the fact is that God created
