formal, solemn and binding agreement or compact between two or more individuals. Even in their day to day lives people in ancient times took covenants very seriously, and they
were usually sealed by a binding and irrevocable oath, accompanied by a shared meal, or the sacrifice of an animal and its subsequent division between the parties concerned. Moreover, breaking
the terms of a covenant was viewed as a heinous crime. In light of these staunch beliefs one can easily understand how seriously the covenants made between God and the
people of Israel were viewed, and how the Israelites understood that most sacred of relationships. In terms of the Bible and the
Holy Scriptures a covenant refers to a promise from God that can be either conditional or unconditional. In conditional Biblical covenants God guaranteed that He would do His part
as long as Man complied with the inherent stipulations of that covenant; and conversely, unconditional Biblical covenants referred to those whose fulfillment was based solely on Gods promise, power and
sovereignty. Moreover, another significant point relevant to Gods covenants is that they cannot be revoked or nullified. Nor can a present covenant replace a former one: "Whatever God declares
shall be forever" (The Holy Bible, 1989 Ecclesiastes 13:14, The Covenant, 2001 and See Also The Mosaic Covenant, 2001). Biblical covenants are most
