but dismiss their faith in God when they enter their place of employment, thinking this is necessary in a secular world. Larry Julian, in "God is My CEO," illustrates how
people with religious faith in God can enter that secular world and still maintain, as well as develop, their relationship with God even while working. The following paper summarizes Julians
work and then analyzes relevant aspects of the book. Summary In the beginning of his book Julian illustrates that people of religious faith are ultimately controlled by the fact
that they must work in the world. They are pushed to have a decent job, and are not necessarily taught how to go about how to obtain, or look for,
a job that is morally responsible or a job that helps support the individuals religious faith. Julian states that "Employees look for meaning and purpose in their work, yet in
reality the bottom-line pressure for company profitability often takes precedence over employee or company meaning and purpose. Is there more to work than earning a paycheck?" (2). Julian answers that
there is more to earning a paycheck but the individual needs to search themselves to find out what their priorities are and what purpose they may serve in their work.
This leads Julian to the point that people need to find purpose in their work, look for their calling, and feel they are basing this calling on good priorities. That
