The concept of an all-powerful God presents a problem when that concept is paired with the fact that there is evil in the world. According to
the Gospel of Mark, God is an all-knowing, all-loving God whose will will rise above the evil in the world to spread His love and truth. Consequently everything that
He does, all of His purpose is tied to his love for us. The contention might be presented, however, that the concept of an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God
is simply incongruous with the fact that evil is a very real component of our world. Those that point out this incongruity contend if God were all-powerful he would
simply stamp out evil or not allow it to exist in the first place. Objection
to the Argument There are numerous objections the argument presented above. First and foremost is the fact that it is God that
is all-knowing, not man. God obviously has a reason for allowing evil to exist in our world. Indeed, the Bible itself confirms those evils. Mark refers, of
course, not only to the goodness of God but also the many evils which exist in our world. These evils include Satan himself. Mark refers to the corrupt priests
and the soldiers who mocked Christ as he was being crucified as a means of providing a contrast between their corruption and Gods purity, a purity which is personified of
