strengths and weaknesses, and your interests and tolerances. If you can accomplish these goals, you are likely to be able to pursue your career with competence and enthusiasm for
a very long time. Mrs. Warden holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, and so has the credentials to obtain a wide variety of positions. In addition to increasing
your knowledge, such a degree allows you to move up into management, if you desire, or to work directly with clients in a variety of settings. For those who
seek a lifelong career in social work, this is a very valuable asset. Based on her experience, I realize that I would like to get my Masters so as
to be fully prepared academically. A firm foundation in theory is invaluable in the field, because later it is more difficult to have the time while in the thick
of the action to go back and try to add to your theoretical knowledge. The next important thing is to gain real experience. Theory, however important, is not enough
to allow you to effectively deal with the variety of real situations you will encounter as a front line social worker. It is very important to also learn to
read people, to be able to pick up on the cues that only experience can teach you. In addition, working with a wide variety of situations broadens your understanding
