In an article published in the November 2011 issue of Environmental Nutrition, author Gloria Tsang advocates the potential downfalls of trying to stick to a very strict diet.
Whether you are strictly limiting calories, carbohydrates, or some particular type of food like glutins, strict diets can be discouragingly difficult to stick to. Tsang (3) contends that
while these diets are good for short term weight loss, it is too easy to give up and go back to unhealthy eating habits out of pure frustration. Tsang
has dubbed her approach to losing weight and keeping it off the "undiet" and has written the book "Go UnDiet". The
"Environmental Nutrition" article is basically a highlight of what Tsang covers in more depth in her book. Consequently, it doesnt delve very much into the facts of weight loss.
The basics of losing weight, of course, are the same regardless of what type of methodology you are implementing.
