to standardizing laws and practices and negative integration refers to eliminating barriers (Hubpages, 2010). This same author describes interaction among countries in the world and states that globalization "involves technological,
economic, political, and cultural exchanges" (Hubpages, 2010). True globalization is the attitude that we are all connected and what affects the citizens of one country affects the citizens of all
countries. A good example of this is the recent earthquake in Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the world. We witnessed the outpouring of aid and sympathy across the
world for the Haitians as well as definitive actions being taken to get money, water, food, medical care, and rescue workers to Haiti to help. The contributions and the physical
hard work on the ground there is an example of how so many people believe that we are all connected. Much of the literature on globalization focuses on
the business side, which is directly linked to the economy. Success demands an understanding of different cultures and national practices in all areas of life. Globalization, regardless of the
specific area being considered, e.g., organizations, business, economy, culture, political or other areas, has flourished and grown exponentially due to advances in technology. The Internet is a key player in
globalization. It can be said that technology spurred the emergence of globalization and the growth of it. Globalization creates a more complex environment for any organization. Consider how much multinational
corporations had to learn as they expensed into more and more global markets. They have been successful only because they work within the laws and cultures of their host nations.
