interests of legislation, magnitude and time horizon in order to assess the actual connection between the two elements. While effective legislation provides for the ongoing reassurance of foreign subsidiaries,
it also deals directly with the issue of extraterritoriality. Within an expatriate society, magnitude plays a key role in that it establishes the very climate of such an environment
with particular emphasis upon the increasing problems of "managing intra-national diversity" (Tung, 1996, p. rtung96-12-23.html). By contrast, the time horizon provides for the overall indication of managing cross-national diversity
