development. Brief Company Background Ginn Development Co. LLC is the baby of Edward Robert "Bobby" Ginn, who is out to build a "premier hospitality company" (Snyder, 2007). Ginn is a
Florida company; it has "more than 40,000 acres in its land bank, [and] already has launched nearly two dozen projects across the country and in the Bahamas" (Snyder). The "umbrella
corporation" that oversees a lot of other Ginn companies is Ginn Resorts, which is behind the Bahamas development (Snyder). Bobby Ginn has been involved in real estate almost all his
life, beginning in 1971 when he developed a golf course at Pleasant Point, near Charleston, S.C. (Snyder). The company had a bad time in the 1980s, but turned things around
and is stronger than ever, in large part because, as Ginn says, "many of his investment partners never lost faith in his skills" (Snyder). Some of his investors have been
with Ginn for more than 30 years (Snyder). Ginn is described as having a "passion and commitment" for development, and the corporation has been generous to the communities it serves
as well (Snyder). It gave a $20,000 playground to the "tiny community of Montverde, near Bella Collina in Lake County" and $2.5 million "to help build an engineering school at
Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, where Ginn is planning a development" (Snyder). Clearly, Ginn knows that being nice to the people where he wants to develop his land
