the future economic, cultural and social health" of any given state and the country as a whole (Cornell Chronicle, 2004). And, perhaps more often than not, ones upbringing and adult
relatives are the most important elements that either push a younger relative to obtaining a higher education or not push. The following paper presents a hypothetical experience wherein an individual
in their senior year of high school is influenced heavily by an uncle who teaches them the importance of a higher education in order to reach a greater level of
success. Getting an Education As I was entering into the last year of high school, wondering what I would do with my life after school, my uncle visited
the family. My uncle has always been an important part of my life and always been something of a hero of mine due to his intelligence, success, and his wonderful
lifestyle. However, this one visit was to change my life. At the time my uncle visited I was very uncertain about my future after school. I had planned to
maybe attend the local community college, but then again was also thinking about getting a job with a friend of mine in a construction company. The money was good and
that was tempting. But, with my uncles visit all those possibilities changed. My uncle is a man who has traveled the world, and still does travel the world. He has
