the early Greek philosophers talked about it. And, today, there are still opposing viewpoints on the actual origin of evil. These explorations can be taken too far. Humans seem
to want to make everything complicated. We want definite answers. The absolute truth about any account in the Bible will remain unknown to us until our Father calls us home
and then, it wont matter. This is what we know from the text: God created man (in the sense of mankind/humanity) in His own image. He made man higher
than all other creations. He gave man free will. God told Adam he could eat from every tree except one. Eve had not yet been formed so she did not
hear God say this. A Serpent appeared and spoke to Eve (Adam was with her) but the text implies that she knew the rule. The Serpent told Eve she would
not die. She would understand good and evil after she ate the fruit. She ate it. She gave it to Adam and he ate it. The Serpent was
the catalyst for this disobedience, therefore, the Serpent was already evil. That was the origin of evil. Scholars agree that Moses wrote the first five Books in the Old
Testament. The general thought is that Moses wrote these texts during the forty years of the Exodus which would have been between 1446 B.C. and 1406 B.C. Genesis 1 reports
most of the things that God created, the order of creation, and Gods descriptions of those creations. This encompassed the first six days. Genesis 2 begins with the seventh day
on which God rested and thus, made holy. Genesis 2:1-24 repeats the creation story but it is in Genesis 2:22 that God formed woman out of one of Adams
