Motors also produces vehicles through Opel, Holden and Vauxhall (Hoovers, 2003). General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) is a subsidiary that provides financing for GM products (Hoovers, 2003). GMs other operations include DIRECTV (through Hughes Electronics), Allison Transmissions, which produce heavy-duty automatic transmissions, and GM Locomotive Industries, which produces diesel engines and locomotives) (Hoovers, 2003). The corporation is also heavily invested in Fuji Heavy Industries, which is owned by Subaru, Isuzu Motors, Fiat, Suzuki Motor and Daewoo Auto & Technology (Hoovers, 2003). Annual unit sales for the last three years are illustrated in the following graphic. Sales dipped in both 2000 and 2001 but then increased in 2002.
