sex the baby is primarily to begin various gender-related rituals. But the truth is that many theorists believe that sex and gender are not synonymous and in fact some theorists
claim that there are more than just two genders. Babies are born with sex organs and are generally dubbed a boy or girl, but some sexual organs are not clearly
defined and sometimes, boys are made into girls and vice versa. A botched circumcision has on occasion led to such difficult decisions. However, theorists write about gender differences and parenting
as something that would naturally follow suit and be something construed meaningful. How are people to create meaning in their lives? Gender is something relevant and it does provide meaning
for people. For example, Whitbeck (1986) claims that various theorists throughout the ages have defined women differently. In essence, womanhood is a social construction. Few would argue with this fact
as once again, babies are born with organs but those organs that seem to prompt the "its a boy" or "its a girl" reaction are not fully aligned with definitions
of gender. Whitbeck (1986) argues against the embrace of the male perspective as it is aligned with the definition of womanhood. Indeed, men have defined women and when it comes
to parenting, to a great extent, men define their daughters. Allen (1983) also notes that much about the history of women was written by men. This is important
as women often gain a perspective on their lives through the eyes of men. It is common knowledge today in this sophisticated world that women have special relationships with their
