the county, the evidence of gangs is quite evident throughout the county the evidence of their activity is everywhere (ScanGwinnett [1], 2006). The evidence lies "In police reports. On the
walls of homes like those along Singleton Road in Norcross that are covered with arcane graffiti symbols. On the tattoos that mark the bodies of gang members" (ScanGwinnett [1], 2006).
And, for the most part it appears as though the gangs that have been identified, close to 200 gangs, are Latino and Asian (ScanGwinnett [2], 2006). (NOTE: This particular source
lists all the known gangs in Gwinnett County and also details their names and the colors that identify them as particular gangs). In a Public Broadcasting show it was
noted that, "Gangs are everywhere today in Georgia, but nowhere are they more prevalent than in Gwinnett County which has 178 gangs with 1800 gang members" (Georgia Public Broadcasting, 2003).
The Gwinnett police and the Office of the District Attorney are apparently working together, and working hard, to ensure that gangs and gang violence are controlled if not eliminated completely
