questions that still leads to great debate is whether the protocols and techniques used with individuals could/should be applied to groups, and vice versa. The dynamics between the two entities
share some similarities, and yet, there are enough differences to cause some concern when a one size fits all mentality is the norm. This paper will offer a comparison of
both types of applied behavioral analysis, group and single, in the hopes that it will become clear that while some elements of the application can be used for all, individuals
cannot, nor should not, be assessed or treated based on research which only utilized and studied groups. Behavioral analysis is, in a nutshell, the study of the precursor conditions and
reinforcement contingencies that control behavior, as well as the study of the antecedent conditions and reinforcement contingencies that control behavior(Barlow 1984). Originally, behavioral analysis grew out of a concern for
the individual needs of those who were struggling with various learning disabilities, such as autism. Because each person is affected in a differing degree, each program was tailor made to
the ability level of the client. A majority of the research that has been done over the last few decades has been based upon a growing number of reports
which focused on group dynamics, and has shifted from this tailor made, or customized approach. One of the biggest reasons is that customizing a program for one person is time
consuming and labor intensive. Whereas, it was found that many who are, for example, autistic, share many of the same needs and levels of ability. Aiming at the median approach
