the one hand, there are articles such as the one released from Greenbelt, Maryland in 2006, that states, unequivocally, that global warming is a fact, because a 10-year survey showed
a net loss of ice from combined polar ice sheets, as well as a corresponding rise in the seal level, between 1992 and 2002 (NASA, 2006). Then there is the
other side, claiming that global warming is a myth cooked up by left-wing kooks. The fact of the matter is, global warming is a reality, and the following climate change
could have serious repercussions for our planet. What are some of the other signs of global warming? Experts point out that
record heat recorded in 2005 across the globe is also part of a warming trend due to greenhouse gasses - researchers say, in fact, that 19 of the hottest 20
years on record have occurred since 1980 (NASA, 2006). What is the impact if the current situation should continue unabated. Though there
are many futuristic predictions out there, the most viable ones are that warming seas will alter marine wildlife significantly - studies are already showing that oxygen-killing algae are already depleting
the sea of nutrients that animals need for survival. On land, a global warming trend could impact agriculture; providing too much rain in one part of the world and not
enough in the other. Agriculture, of course, helps determine what foods we eat - and if not enough is growing, then we could be talking about food scarcity in some
parts of the world (moreso than usual). Violent storms have also been linked to a warming of the earths temperature. During the
