Other values that underlie GEs success include a spirit of innovation, staff opportunities, teamwork, respect for individuals, encouraging ideas, a passion for learning and sharing ideas,
and a connection with stakeholders including employees, customers and communities. On the surface, it may seem as though management is doing
everything right - GE seems like a utopia when it comes to connecting with stakeholders and encouraging teamwork as well as ideas and innovation. However, managing 40,000 people from diverse
backgrounds and with different agendas and styles of work is no easy task. In this paper, well examine what types of
management approaches might work with a learning organization such as GE. Well also discuss the cultural aspects that might interfere with a successful management approach in this particular company.
