company has done very well, the company is moving toward an Initial Public Offering to help keep pace with demand, to expand and to raise capital to extend its success.
In this study, the various team members (who are siblings of the late Don Ruiz, the companys founder) are gathering together
to determine how to move forward. This will require a change strategy, as well as an understanding of leadership traits and analysis.
As there are no analyses from other team members, well be providing our own in this simulation. Gene One has
been extraordinarily successful with its technology, so much so that it is now a $400 million company. That, combined with investor confidence in the genome market for foods means that
the vision of the company should and could go beyond potatoes and tomatoes, and could encompass other types of foods (such as carrots and other vegetables). The problem is, however,
that there are different executives who have different thoughts about the companys direction. To top it off, the research portion of the business is more about doing applied research, rather
than placating Wall Street. Gene One has a solid team - it had a CEO with a passion in Don Ruiz
and an award-winning researcher in Teri Robertson, his niece. Marketing director Charles Jones is doing a great job of building brand awareness, and CFO Michelle Houghton is realistic, but is
