it has to be able to catch the attention and appeal to the target audience/market. There is a great deal of speculation in the marketing media about future trends;
the majority focuses on technology and the use of technology, either directly marketing through technology or the way it may be used to support marketing functions. Aquino (2012) identifies five
trends; mobile communications, the use of social media such as Facebook and Twitter, as both a tool to monitor consumer attitudes and responses as well as a marketing tool, the
use of QR codes to facilitates easy access to information by target markets and increased use of online video. Notably, these different trends re not independent of each other; they
may be seen as a convergence of the influence of technology. The potential of social media and forecasts for its increase importance in marketing is also seen in other texts,
where it is advocated as a way of connecting with consumers and gathering competitive intelligence (Tantak and Chavan, 2012). The potential of the internet and both eComerce and mCommerce
approaches to marketing is not a new idea, this has been predicted as increasing in prominence for many years (Chaffey, 2007). The trend coincides with the technology that is used,
so with the increased penetration rates of smart phones creating technology which is more accessible and gradually becoming a social normal the penetration rate of smart phones is increasing, with
