students in the same classes learning from one another and becoming more unified and harmonious, others feel that by putting people with learning disabilities and children who are gifted intellectually
in the same classes with "average" children can only spell disaster as most of the children will not get the attention they need. The notion or intent of full inclusion
in the classroom is to bring children together and not separate them. It is believed that through doing this children will excel. The following paper examines information on this controversial
topic. Full Inclusion in the Classroom As one author notes, inclusion is a "part of school reform" that "has focused on
including all students in the schools social and instructional opportunities (Tharp et al., 2000; 4). These authors, while advocating this style of education, also illustrate that even many parents and
educators who are for full inclusion have fears for in "the broader sweep of inclusion, the more the able are dragged down, and that is hardly Fair" (Tharp et al.,
2000; 4). There is also evidence that there is a "real educational benefit" involved in "a cooperative learning environment" (The Exceptional Parent [1], 2000; S9).
However, as is perhaps the case with all approaches to education these days, there are pros and cons to every attempted or envisioned approach to education. What
may work for some may not work for others and in all honesty there is not way to address the needs of every child more than adequately. Interestingly enough, while
