the globe, despite their technology, their political or social development and despite their economy. The following paper examines fuel prices from a global perspective, giving an overview of various elements
involved with fuel prices. Fuel Prices: An Overview One of the most important aspects of fuel prices today is that which involves the impact the rising costs have
on various economies. It seems, according to one particular author, that the countries that put out the most oil and those that do not put out any oil at all
are the ones hardest hit (Khaleej Times Online, 2004). Clearly those who do not produce any oil at all are hard hit because they must always purchase oil outside their
region. Those that produce the most amount of oil essentially are hard hit because they run the business of fuel. This particular author also notes that, "The impact of
the high prices of fuel can impact retail spending, increase wholesale level prices and also have a net effect of slowing down the economy without the Central Bank making any
moves" (Khaleej Times Online, 2004). In the case of the United States, the nation relies on oil remaining stable in order to support national economic growth (Khaleej Times Online, 2004).
But, when oil climbs to a high point, the growth is pinched to remain low, or to lower (Khaleej Times Online, 2004). In other words, when oil prices rise and
