on an even keel. Cultivating the creative juices, while at the same time attempting to teach the less interesting lessons, will not only draw out student participation, but it
will also encourage them to remember the lesson just learned. According to Froebel (1826), education exists as a means by which to "encourage and guide man as a conscious,
thinking and perceiving being in such a way that he becomes a pure and perfect representation of that divine inner law through his own personal choice; education must show him
the ways and meanings of attaining that goal" (p. 2). The impact Froebels (1826) philosophies had upon current views of early childhood education
is best understood in terms of balance. Opportunity abounds for early childhood education, given the multitude of academic theorists who pioneered a number of indispensable approaches, however, Froebels (1826)
