Treaty came into existence as a means by which to permit ingress and egress from one member state to another for reasons of employment, education, retirement, visitation and travel.
The extent to which this mandate of free movement has opened up opportunities for individuals, families and entire communities is both grand and far-reaching; that foreign nationals are allowed to
cross borders of countries they have otherwise never entered speaks to a broader spectrum of acceptance between and among Europes myriad ethnic populations. "These rights are not only guaranteed
by the Treaty, but also in numerous other pieces of Community legislation which oblige Member States to allow nationals of other Member States to visit and live in their country.
