parenting, love, hopes, power, neglect, and denial to name but a few of the themes within. It is a story that is also simply entertaining and magnificent in many ways.
The following paper analyzes various elements of the story such as character, theme and symbolism. Frankenstein The two primary characters in
the story are Frankenstein and the monster. They are opposites in many ways, and perhaps balance one another, or make up one whole. They are very much like father and
son, for Frankenstein "gave birth" to his monster and the monster desires to know his father and be taught by his father. One could also well argue that in the
monster Frankenstein has created the other side of himself, a more noble self but also a very hideous self that everyone cringes from.
It is very interesting to look at the two characters for they are incredibly different and many people would likely side more with the monster, feel empathy for the
monster, as opposed to Frankenstein who is something of an arrogant and ignorant man who takes no responsibility for his creation. On the one hand Frankenstein immediately abandons his creation
and runs from him, expecting that his creation will cease to exist if Frankenstein ignores the reality. On the other hand the reader sees the monster as a creation that
is gentle and desiring to know his father. All he wants is to be accepted by Frankenstein and he is also a man of deep thought, as seen through his
reading of texts and his self education. He only becomes cruel when Frankenstein refuses to accept his creation. In truth, the monster has every right to do cruel things, for
