had a successful past, but it is facing a number of difficulties at the current time. These difficulties have resulted in the firm making a loss of ?2.4 million, with no sign of improvement. It is known that there are problems in terms of the quality of the equipment that the firm is supplying, there have also been complaints regarding a poor standard of customer services. In order for the firm to survive it is apparent that change needs to take place. In order to determine what changes are needed it is necessary to look at the firm and the root of the problems, it is only when the causes of the difficulties are identified that it is possible to identify potential solution and design strategies to implement the solutions. 2. Findings 2.1 The Problems There are four functional departments within Fox Enterprises Ltd; Customer Services, Finance, Marketing and Office Services, there a number of cross functional task and the department have to work with each other in some areas, however to assess the problems of the firm each area may be assessed individually. There appears to be a number of issues that are casing problems, these include the employment relationship between management and the employees, motivation, job design, lack of suitable resources and a fragmented culture. The issues may be seen as individual problems, but the reality is many of these are linked together. The customer services department appears to have some specific problems; there do not appear to be uniform practices or policies for dealing with customers and equerries.
