Joseph. 1. Sanguine: This is a lively, energentic, positive, outgoing person who enjoys people. The problem is that this person may be so energetic that they are disorganized and cannot always concentrate for any length of time. This person can also be self-centered and although tends to be compssionate, may give the impression that he is focused primarily on himself. He needs to slow down and gain some self-control so that he can reap the benefits of studying the Word. A sanguine temperament is not conducive with excellent leadership. In fact, the core characteristics would result in a very poor leader who is more interested in a pleasant life than in facing the challenges. 2. Choleric: This person is strong-willed, acts quickly, sometimes too quickly, independent and may even be quick-tempered, being so blunt that he becomes cruel. Contrary to the sanguine person, the choleric person is usually very organized, is able to set plans in motion and may even be perceived as bossy. He believes that he can do things by himself with no help. Of the three Patriarchs in question, Jacob is the best example of this temperament although Abraham and Joseph are also believed to have had choleric temperaments. Abraham was indeed rash when he set about following Gods first message to move but he did not wait to see if God would tell him the best path to take. There are certain parts of this temperament that are needed in leadership: independence, organization, and planning. The rest is contrary to good leadership. 3. Melancholy: This is not what it would suggest by the term. Instead, this person is more analytical, gifted, sensitive, and emotional.
