If we look at the UK and the US both have a game they cal football. However, they very different games, and may be seen as manifestations of their countries
culture. They are also sports which have both developed subcultures within the main culture, with defined values and attitudes. This paper considers the games and then analyse their interaction
with culture. To avoid confusion in the paper US Football will be referred to as Football, and UK football will be
referred to as soccer. Before a consideration of each game can be given and the culture is may represent or help create can be consider we first need to look
at the way each game is played. Football is an American institution. The game made up of two teams, with the aim
to gain point by getting the oval shaped ball from one end of the field to the other. We can examine this game by looking at how it is played.
The game will often begin with some form of entertainment, such as cheerleaders and/or the mascot to other performances. The game itself will begin with the referee tossing a coin
to decide which team has the ball first. The team that wins the toss will have the ball first. The second half of the game sees the position
