That is almost a paradox but a community based approach has created a new niche that has opened the door to personalizaition. Community health nursing has in fact made this
type of care a reality. More and more people rely on community nursing and come to appreciate the efforts of the nurse who chooses this sector. However, every specialty can
be improved. Many times, patients complain due to inadequate care and mistakes ranging from improper dosing to neglect. While in general todays medical care is state of the art, mistakes
are made. There are in fact numerous examples of people being given the wrong medication due to illegible handwriting. Still, even if the quality of care was excellent, the state
of the patients mind is also important. How do patients think? Are their social, psychological and physical needs all being met, or are patients in need of other services?
Does the community health nurse give each patient enough time? These and other questions may be answered through the use of focus groups. It is a good way of collecting
data because it is quick, can be administered cheaply and results are instantaneous in some instances. Before delving into the appropriateness of using focus groups in the field, the world
