Atlantas reputation shadows that of its Alabama counterpart is both grand and far-reaching; that Florence strives to reach the tourism and status level Atlanta has attained speaks to the tremendous
value of reputation. Florences three zip codes hardly compare to that of Atlantas three dozen, however, that does not necessarily mean that bigger is always better. Indeed, appreciating the
beneficial differences between Atlantas four hundred thousand residents and Florences thirty-six thousand comes in many forms, not the least of which include a much closer knit population of townsfolk, a
wide diversity of cultural designations, different environmental issues (also primary to their difference in elevation), as well as an entirely different way of approaching life. One might readily surmise

cities is quite diverse, particularly where the black and white populations are concerned. Primarily black (61.4%), Atlanta has more than three times the number of African-Americans than Florence (19.2%)
and less than half the white population (31.3% compared to 77.7%). All other ethnic races in Atlanta fall relatively equal to the Florence percentages, as well: Hispanic (F-4.5%, A-1.3%);
Asian Indian (both 0.6%); American Indian (both 0.5%); and Other (F-0.5%, A-2%). Educational inferences are more in line than one might expect from two otherwise diverse communities. Of those
