consider from many perspectives for they are not titles that were necessarily chosen lightly. The following paper examines the significance of the titles of two of her stories, "A Good
Man is Hard to Find" and "Revelation." The two titles/stories are discussed separately. A Good Man is Hard to Find This story is likely Flannery OConnors most famous
story and perhaps also her most shocking. It is the story of a simple family heading out on a vacation, led by the grandmother who has religious ideals and believes
in behaving properly. The story evolves as a killer stops them and ultimately kills all the family members in an almost calm and serene manner while the family simply seems
to accept their fate. As such we can envision many different conflicts, and many possible symbolic meanings. And they all revolve around a man, a man who is not good,
and thus illustrates how good men are not numerous. One of the most powerful symbolic elements of this story is the absence of real salvation for many in the world.
The grandmother thinks she has the answers and is saved, religiously or otherwise, but yet she perhaps seems to realize that this is not the case when she sees this
killer and realizes that he is one of her own, that he is her child. She does not believe that good men are numerous and yet she sees something powerful
in this killer, something potentially good perhaps. Suddenly she comes to a realization that now she sees truth and now she has found salvation. The killer, the Misfit, on the
