Americans, many of whom suffer from preventable chronic diseases. This initiative defines goals for fitness, for reductions in preventable conditions, and for improving lifestyle to improve the overall health
of the American population. Some of the key aspects that I can focus on when developing a personal plan for change include healthy weight management and improved fitness.
Topic 2: Building Motivation for Change Many people do not implement strategies to improve their overall health because they find the strategies require
more effort than remaining the same. One of the key aspects of any plan for change has to be an understanding of the problems associated with poor physical health
long-term. This is one element that I hope to focus on to ensure I remain motivated for change. Topic 3: Being Fit and Well For Life
In the past, I have implemented changes to improve my physical health, only to find I lose motivation quickly and strategies only work for a short
duration. For example, diets only work for short periods of time unless they are a part of a lifestyle change. Choices to be fit and well must reflect
a lifestyle approach, rather than short duration changes. III. Cardiorespiratory Endurance Topic 1: Exercise and the Three Energy Systems Effective exercise, exercise
that can improve fitness, requires an understanding of the way to get the most out of exercise, realizing that there are different functions for exercise and different energy systems involved.
