chosen. A sample essay on this topic, written in first person, is as follows: I recently decided to rent an apartment and although it seemed to be a good idea
at the time, I soon learned that the rent coupled with living expenses would be prohibitive on my meager salary. I thought the apartment looked nice and was perfect for
my lifestyle. It was simple, small, but chic and was almost brand new. It was everything I thought it should be. I quickly put a $500 deposit on it as
in the city, apartments go fast. In fact, if I did not get the heads up from a friend who happens to live in the building, I never would have
had this wonderful opportunity. The rent is $1350 per month and it is really only suitable for one tenant. However, I just accepted my first job and it pays
only $30,000 per year. I was approved for the rental based on my scant but excellent credit history and while I made the decision by myself, it seems that my
twenty-two years on this planet had not prepared me to make a sound decision in this area. Even so, I told my friends and family that I just accepted a
job offer and would be living in this nice apartment. Everything was set and it was all very exciting. However, when I sat down to do the math, I realized
that it was not affordable in my income bracket. My take home pay was only about $2000 per month. That would leave me only $650 for the month for utilities,
food, transportation and entertainment. Also, I still have student loans which are about $250 per month and a car payment of $310. If I were to take the apartment,
