this writer cannot write about the students first car as they are not privy to such information and they did not have the same experiences as the student requesting this
paper. As such the information provided will be clearly discussing experiences likely to be very different from the students. The remainder of the paper will also be written in first
person. I remember my first car, well the first car I ever owned. It was a Pontiac station wagon. I believe it
was a 1970 wagon, but I could be wrong. It was that horrible olive green color and there was no longer any shine to the paint on this wagon. I
also remember that it had this little symbol of an Indians head on the control panels of the car. I bought the car for $50.00 in 1979 and named her
Matilda. At that time in my life I was 18 and had just met my soon to be husband. We did not
have much money and honestly we had nowhere to live at the time, aside from a friends apartment on occasion. I was living a life of wandering and adventure
while also attending college. The car offered a sense of freedom, as well as very simplistic security because we could actually sleep in it!
