to be solely geared towards children, you should view this delightful film, as it is cleverly devised to be appealing to a broad audience that includes adults. The basic
plot to the movie is well-known, as the idea of Marlin looking for his son Nemo and likewise, and likewise, Nemo looking for his Dad once he has escaped, has
become part of pop culture. The impression that this pop cultural conveys is that the movie is quite moralistic and, to a certain extent, this is true. But it is
also true that the filmmakers manage to keep their lessons sufficiently subtle as to not interfere with their storytelling. Sister Rose Pacatte summarizes the lessons offered by the narrative by
writing that these are about "love, solidarity, community, the environment, helping others, the courage to live life and fostering father-son relationships" (Pacatte 6). When one considers the extent o
which this film is family-oriented and filled with "good for society" themes, it is quite a triumph for the filmmakers that none of these morals are drummed into the audience,
but are rather handled subtly and well, as they are integrated into the context of the narrative and the way the character change and develop as their adventures progress. As
this suggests, which is a lesser-known feature of the film is that much of the dialogue establishes fantastic characterization and is quite funny. For example, as Marlin sets off
