As stated in earlier work, CrewCuts will be "a store that provides toys, clothing and accessories at reasonable prices that have been manufactured in the United
States while maximizing gross margins, overall profitability and customer loyalty." The recent backlash against ongoing news of toy after lead-containing toy will work in CrewCuts favor in that the
company will be able to promote its domestic origin of all of its products. Though it seems as though virtually all childrens items
are manufactured outside of the country, the value of domestic production still is more than only significant. As example, in toys alone "the industrys domestic production in 2004, the
latest year of available data, was valued at approximately $3.541 billion" (U.S. Department of Commerce Industry Outlook, 2006; p. 2). There are many domestically-produced items in the product classes
that CrewCuts seeks to offer its customers. Financial Strategy Owners will seek funding in the amount of $500,000 in the form of grants
and loans. Slightly more than half of the requested amount will be used for preopening costs, as outlined in Table 1. The company will use $180,000 as the
beginning funds for operation to keep the company solvent through its first several months of operation; the remaining $90,000 will be held as a cash reserve as an emergency fund
and as the source of loan repayment until the company can begin making loan payments from its own monthly sales. Table 1. Startup Costs Item Amount Beginning Inventory
