in Italy and Australia produce specialty items that typically command higher prices; the South Korea facility produces consumer goods that sell relatively inexpensively at retail.
This is the transcript of an interview with Margaret James, Acmes chief financial officer (CFO). Ms. James training is as an MBA specializing in corporate finance and
foreign exchange. She worked as a foreign exchange analyst for two Wall Street securities firms before taking on reorganization duties for a computer company that eventually fell victim to
industry consolidation and was acquired by Hewlett-Packard. Remaining with HP for a time following its acquisition of her company, Ms. James advised HPs senior management in aligning its international
business with changes in the industry and in financial reporting requirements, and in focusing on the business case for positively contributing to sustainable development in the countries in which Acme
operates. Ms. James has seen the role of foreign exchange and currency risk management expand dramatically in her 20 years in the industry.
