Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This 10 page report discusses the 2000 campaign for the
presidency, focusing on George W. Bush and the ways that his
style and messages have changed over the course of the political
race. Both Vice President Al Gore and Governor George W. Bush
made every effort to make their issues and their concerns appeal
to as many people as possible. As the campaign strategists for
Bush and Gore desperately calculated ways to win enough states to
amass the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White
House, their strategies depend on reaching the greatest number of
voters to assure that they win those voters’ states’ share of the
electoral votes. For example, Bush’ trip to Minnesota, a
Democratic stronghold demonstrates the ways in which Bush was
willing to make every minute of the final weeks of the campaign
count. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
