on circumstantial evidence and he is innocent, but we dont know that for some time (The Shawshank Redemption). While he is in prison, he becomes fast friends with Ellis Boyd
"Red" Redding (Morgan Freeman), who is also serving a life sentence (The Shawshank Redemption). Because of his knowledge of banking, Andy is able to help the chief guard, Byron
