a culture as possible in order to do their job to the best of their ability. The following paper examines the Filipino culture and what a nurse should know about
that culture in order to provide the best care possible. Filipino Culture Like any particular culture there is a great diversity
within the Filipino people and the culture. In first understanding something of the culture it is perhaps imperative to examine Filipino culture in the Philippines. One author notes that women,
for example, are generally expected to hold up their reputation, to be refined and to not associate with men on their own (Living in the Philippines, 2006). In order for
any courting to take place a young man would essentially need the permission of the parents and even then a good young woman would still play "hard to get" (Living
