wanted nothing to do with the man, and surely did not wish to know anything of the life or work of Castro. Decades later, however, it seems acceptable and intriguing
that writers are offering up various levels of examination of this curious, strong, and incredibly powerful man. "Fidel Castro: A Biography" by Thomas Leonard is a relatively simple biography of
the infamous Castro. The following paper examines his work and illustrates why Castro is worth knowing about. Fidel Castro Leonards work presents the reader with a very general look
at the life and work of Fidel Castro. It is not a work that seeks out to necessarily argue one stance or another, but a work designed to inform the
reader about Castro, perhaps from a very simple and human perspective. Most people who perhaps read this work today will be people who do not really remember the turmoil between
Cuba and the United States several decades ago and as such they can read the life of Castro with a far more objective eye. The United States, as mentioned
in the introduction, wanted nothing to do with Castro and as such did not desire to know anything about him that was normal or perhaps even good. They did not,
in essence, wish to see Castro as an individual who fought hard for his people and his country. They merely thought him evil and this is one of the most
powerful reasons why reading Loenards book is important for it puts the reader in a state where they can merely learn about the man and see him far more objectively
